CCPE Worldwide ABN No 60 707 466 757, was established in New South Wales, Australia in 2017 (No.INC1701416). Its founding was inspired by a 15 year African experience of a former Prison Chaplain and dialogue specialist Morris Kizito Mukasa. With the help of research and other like-minded professionals as a response to issues affecting migrants of African origin in their social integration process in Sweden, France, Switzerland, UK, USA and Australia, they developed the African therapeutic model of Transformation with the aim of harnessing arts not only to build peace and encourage healing but also to empower migrants who have endured the bitterness of conflict and its associated trauma. The initiative involves musicians, poets, and artists to creatively express themselves, providing the basis for discourse. These efforts have fostered mutual trust and an attitude of coexistence among young people from different backgrounds. It has also opened a space for greater dialogue about their contribution to host communities.

{With a vision of a just, peaceful, harmonious and responsive society that appreciates sharing and a mission to enhancing knowledge and skills for wellness, influencing attitudes and encouraging peaceful co-existence. CCPE works with communities and partners worldwide to challenge unjust systems and promote lasting peace and trauma healing. As such CCPE respects the equality, worth, and dignity of all people and regard no one as an enemy, seek right relationships within diversity. CCPE asserts the transforming power of music, dance, African stories and active nonviolence as a force for healing, justice and reconciliation.}WHY WE DO IT

{The CCPE pilot projects have addressed trauma among former detainees and their care givers in Africa and among migrants of African Origin in Australia. The Programs use the African Therapeutic model of Transformation in a “train-the-trainer model,” coaching mental health professionals, police officers, care home workers, community leaders, teachers, and others in techniques for meditation, guided imagery, movement, journal writing, music and drama exercises. These techniques helped community leaders to deal with their own trauma and stress – and then to pass those skills along to their students. The hope is to cause a ripple effect in the communities they serve, increasing resilience and healing on a larger scale.

The annual cross-cultural Music and dance completion initiative in NSW mobilizes migrants and indigenous populations and brings them together for the organized competitions. Aside from the competition itself, side-meetings are organized between leaders from the different communities. The spectators who come to watch the dance and drama competitions are charged ticket prices, which helps fund the initiative. Through engagement in this program, youth from indigenous and migrant communities have forged long-lasting relationships that have contributed to conflict resolution and management at the local level.

The association is sustained by the kindness of the social corporate responsibility, membership, together with the committed partners, staff, volunteers and well – wishers with a calling.}WHAT WE DO
